About the event
Roached Clips is the maker of cycling accessories for the discerning party rider and has thrown up the call for all to gather on this joyous holiday for a group ride of 15-20 miles of good hangs and Party Size Cycling has heeded the call.
We will be starting in High Bridge and heading south to the Capoolong Creek trail in Clinton. Â You can find the route on Ride with GPS here.
Roached Clips is sending out all sorts of goodies for anyone that comes out on the ride so expect to walk away with some fun new swag.
Ride Details:
ALL RIDES ARE RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK, WE PROVIDE A ROUTE AND SOME COMPANY, BUT STRONGLY RECOMMEND A FRONT AND REAR LIGHT AND A HELMET FOR THIS RIDE.
Distance: Â 20 Miles total, out 10, back 10
Elevation: Â ~900 ft, 2 steep but short climbs each way and a steady 1% grade for the out on the trail
Terrian: Â First 6 and Last 6 are mainly back roads and hard pack gravel doable on any bike. Â Once we get to the creek it gets rooty, rocky and rutted. Â The nice part though it's rail trail style elevation so if you have any issues you aren't falling down the side of mountain.
Recommended Tires: Â 40mm/1.5" is doable but definitely underbiking. Â 48mm/2"+ is ideal. Â Road and Hybrid strongly discouraged. Â Gravel or Hardtail ideal and full suspension would be overkill.
Skill Level: Â Beginner if on MTB, skilled if on Gravel bike. Â You better be a pro if your bringing a road bike out. Â Expect to need to ratchet pedal through some of the ruts and be comfortable having to hit some skinnier sections of trail.
Speed: Â Probably 10-12 on the road, sub 10 through the trail.
Festivities: Â Since we are heading out early we will gather at High Rail Brewery once we get back to High Bridge.
Note: Â If you are worried about making it to High Bridge by 6:30, you can also meet us in Clinton at Fox Lumber or at the Capoolong Creek trailhead.
